A leaked report, drafted by the only Polish accredited to the Russian investigation blames the Russians for the crash and calls for a new report into its causes. Edmund Klich believes that the final Russian IAC/MAK report must be rejected in its entirety due to lack of professionalism, lack of cooperation and sever manipulations.

Danish weekly Ingeniøren in its most recent issue has published an article on the findings and studies of Eng. Glenn Jørgensen who states that "the birch tree could not have been the cause behind the crash of the Polish TU154M in Smolensk, four years ago." >>

Prof. Jorgensen initially considered the official version presented by the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee and the Polish governmental team to be the most probable course of events. However, after months of research and calculations, he realised that the two governmental committees presented a misleading picture and set of circumstances into the causes and course of events of the disaster.

Military investigators on June 27th, 2013, claimed that previously detected TNT particles by devices discovered on the wreckage of the plane in Smolensk were not after analysis of an explosive material origne. However, military prosecutors admitted that an explosion could not be ruled out at this stage.
