"The strength of the Smolensk lie is certainly due to the fact that it is so widespread." - Katarzyna Gojska-Hejke

Since the morning of 10th April 2010 the word "assassination" has been erased from the public debate. The one who despite all that has been using it, has been either an idiot or a hyaena feeding on the tragedy. In such a way the armour-plated birch tree has been grown in the Polish minds. In a sense it was successful. 2 years after the air crash the majority of Poles do not demand the truth but it does not mean that they will remain indifferent when the truth comes out. There is no doubt that this process has already begun. And nothing is going to stop it.

The armour-plated birch tree exists, of course. However, it is not this poor broken tree whose stub was sticking out or is still sticking out near the airport in Smolensk. The armour-plated birch tree symbolises lies concerning the causes of the air crash of 10th April. It is its icon. How was it possible to make thousands of Poles, who are oftentimes well-educated and sophisticated people, give up when it comes to the armour-plated birch tree? They just accepted this incoherent story and persuaded themselves that it was true?

The strength of the Smolensk lie is certainly due to the fact that it is so widespread. After all, representatives of the cabinet, the very Prime Minister Tusk, President Komorowski and the vast majority of the media tell this lie. However, the very intensity would not guarantee such an effectiveness. The architects of the armour-plated birch tree used shock and fear. From the very first moment after the air crash we were given huge amounts of information about the terribly massacred bodies of the victims. The then Minister Kopacz told the Poles stories like from horror films: piles of parts of the bodies impossible to identify, wonderful Russian doctors who ceaselessly identified the fragments, dealing for the first time with the remains damaged to such an extent.

Terror. Today we know that the injuries to the majority of the bodies were not such a massacre. As opposed to the way in which they were treated. It is time to put it as it is - both in Smolensk and in Moscow the victims of the air crash were barbarously profaned. It was all seen by the representatives of our state. Now the truth is coming to light. The aim of these massacre stories was to discourage people from being interested in the air crash. Making ordinary Poles unable to have enough strength and courage to follow the information about it.

The architects of the Smolensk lie also made use of fear and a feeling of embarrassment. It was the aim of the broadcast all around the world conference of Anodina and Morozov. Millions of people heard that the governmental plane of the Republic of Poland crashed because onboard there was a frustrated President, a drunk general and the plane was flown by a badly-trained pilot. They were flying like madmen - in the fog, through the trees and upside down. The majority of the Polish public opinion did not deal with this message. They were unable to hold the burden of facing its contents full of lies and humiliation. Even more so, Donald Tusk soon announced that the Polish reaction to the so-called MAK report might be even worse for our country. And the media just took the Moscow narration for granted. And no wonder that a very big group of Poles stopped following the news concerning the air crash. They were afraid of what other bad news they could hear about their state: its President, the generals and the pilots. They preferred not to know. It was even more so due to the fact that the docility of the Polish authorities and media towards the architects of the amour-plated birch tree was probably perceived as a signal that it is better not to disturb the great Russia. What was the clearest message of this kind was what the spokesman for the cabinet said, appealing to stop looking for the causes of the air crash because that will not bring the victims back to life.

The fear and the humiliation strengthened ceaseless attacks on those who refused no to react to the lies.
