In the coffin of Admiral Andrzej Karweta, Commander of the Polish Navy, who died in Smolensk on 10th April 2010, numerous parts of the bodies of other members of the delegation were found.

Pieces of two other bodies were found in the coffin of Polish President Lech Kaczyński, who died in the 2010 Smolensk air disaster, Deputy Prosecutor General Marek Pasionek has said.

Investigators say the 'likely cause of the explosion was a thermobaric load'. The explosion then likely 'set off a strong shockwave' investigators said Monday. The claim comes on seventh anniversary of the crash in Smolensk, Russia. It killed President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others, mostly senior Polish statesmen.

With the seventh anniversary of the crash of the Tu-154M plane in Smolensk drawing near, the prosecution office handling the investigation into this matter organised a press conference during which it informed the public opinion of new facts and findings made to date.

"Evidence has been collected and obtained during the investigation, which allowed prosecutors to formulate new accusations against air traffic controllers, as well as a third person in the flight control tower" said Deputy Attorney General of the National Public Prosecutor's Office Marek Pasionek.

A speech delivered on 21^st October 2016 by Mrs Ewa Kochanowska (wife of Smolensk crash victim Janusz Kochanowski) in the Polish Parliament during a sitting of the Defence Committee addressing the exhumations of the Smolensk crash victims announced by the Polish Prosecutor's Office.

A commission appointed to investigate the 2010 presidential plane crash has said that there were serious shortcomings in a report on the crash drafted by the previous government.
